The plan for the
development and reconstruction of Bajardo was taken up
in October 1999 by the mayor of Bajardo following the
initiative of Bioliguria- EcoArchitettura, that proposed
an integrated development making use of natural
resources without substantial exploitation of new land.
The starting point for the study was the
demographic situation, the community and its problems,
so as to develop possible solutions on an economic basis.
An international commission of experts with
representatives from different fields was created.
Bioliguria-EcoArchittetura’s approach envisages a
general concept for the village of Bajardo.
So on the one hand the historical centre will be
reconstructed, on the other hand the village will be
made as autonomous as possible in its infrastructures,
facilities and its provisioning and disposal..
Our goals
The goal is to make the development of Bajardo into a
model to be imitated and refined in the next decade by
the surrounding villages, so as to work against the
destruction of the Maritime Alps’ millennium-old
tradition
