- Liguria's Pearls
|
The landscape in
Liguria’s hinterland has nothing in common with Tuscany’s gentle
hills or the wide horizons of the Po plain.
In the woody landscape gems are hidden, such as the Sanctuary of the Child Madonna in Rezzo (15th
century).
The sixteen-arc bridge
over the torrent Argentina in Taggia or the long span of the bridge
of Borghetto d'Arroscia belong to a particular Italian cultural
heritage, that is more and more forgotten.
The beech wood near
Rezzo is considered one of the most beautiful in Liguria. It
covers 500 hectares on heights ranging between 900 and 1400 metres.
The recently restored Church of San Giorgio in Montalto Ligure
is considered a wonderful example of medieval architecture. It was
built in the 12th century.
